Dedicated Care for Those Who’ve Served

Through our partnership with the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, Lumia Care provides veterans support services that help eligible DVA card holders stay at home for longer. Whether you’re a veteran yourself, caring for one or you’re a widow or widower of a veteran, our programs deliver essential support that balances clinical care with daily living assistance — so life remains as independent and enjoyable as possible.

Our DVA Aged Care Services

Depending on the type of repatriation card you hold and your assessed needs, you can access a range of veteran support services across four main categories.

Veterans' Community Nursing Program: Provides clinical and allied health services, including wound care, medication management, rehabilitation, and dementia support, to help veterans maintain their health and independence at home.

Veterans' Home Care Program: Offers domestic assistance, social support, transport, and home maintenance services to white and gold card holders, ensuring comfort and convenience at home.

Veterans' Overnight Care: Provides peace of mind with tailored overnight support, including active or inactive care, for gold card holders meeting eligibility criteria.

Palliative Care: Delivers compassionate end-of-life care, focusing on comfort, dignity, and support for veterans and their families during critical moments.

Every veteran’s story is unique — and so is our approach to care. We listen, plan and adapt, so each service supports your health, your home and your well-being in a way that feels right for you.

Understanding Your DVA Eligibility

Access to DVA services depends on your card type and care assessment. If you hold a Gold or White Repatriation Card, you may qualify for fully or partially funded support through various DVA programs.

At Lumia Care, we guide veterans and their families through every step — from confirming eligibility to arranging assessments and activating approved services.

You may be eligible if you:

Hold a Gold Repatriation Card, which generally covers all clinically necessary care for conditions, injuries or illnesses.

Hold a White Repatriation Card, which covers treatment and care for specific accepted conditions related to your service.

Have received a clinical referral from your GP, hospital, or healthcare provider recommending DVA-funded community or home support.

Have undergone a DVA or Veterans’ Home Care assessment, confirming the type and level of care you require.

Meet the residency and service criteria set by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.

Require temporary, ongoing, or palliative support to maintain independence or quality of life at home.

Our team can liaise directly with your DVA Case Manager, handle the necessary paperwork and make sure you receive the right services without delays or confusion.
